Anthony and his beautiful wife, Sabrina.

Anthony Rugiero was born into a family who understands the value of hard work and commitment. He is proud to be part of a first generation Italian American family dedicated to family and to business. These fundamental beliefs given to him by his parents, Antonio,Sr. and Enrica (“Rita”) Rugiero, who met and married in the United States after both had immigrated from Italy. In 1964, Antonio, Sr. opened Roman Village Italian Restaurant in Dearborn, Michigan, where Anthony and his three brothers learned about the importance of running a restaurant business.

In 1992, the boys opened a second restaurant – Antonio’s Cucina Italiana – in Dearborn Heights – which enjoyed so much popularity that they soon opened two more restaurants – one in Farmington and another in Canton. In 2014, a new restaurant is planned for Livonia, Michigan. When his father died in 2008, Anthony was proud to step in as president of Antonio’s Corporation, which now operates five growing restaurants. It does not stop there, even with the busy schedule of a restaurateur Anthony finds time for other ventures such as Rugiero Management Group, Michigan Studio Productions and many signature community projects.

However, it is family and faith that remains a priority. People say his love for family is palpable. Anthony and his beautiful wife have been married for 13 years, and they have four children – two boys and two girls. Despite a busy schedule, he enjoys spending time coaching his oldest son’s hockey team, attending school events and spending quality time with his wife and family. Anthony and his family embrace traditional values – attending church on Sunday, ensuring that their children understand the importance of honor, honesty and tradition – especially tradition. When you meet him, it is clear that he is proud of his Italian heritage and proud to share this heritage with family and friends. Together, with his children they make prosciutto and wine with hand-me-down family recipes. All four of Anthony’s children attend Italian school in addition to traditional school, and they all travel to Italy frequently to maintain their heritage and visit with relatives there.

The walls of Antonio’s restaurants are lined with photographs of Anthony’s wife and children, parents, brothers, their wives and children and friends. His office walls are displayed with pictures of dignitaries and celebrities that Anthony has come to know. Anthony’s business and charitable activities are numerous, and are listed in his biography.
